Herbert Lee Pouge Jr.
Born in Dalzell S.C. to the late Herbert and Sarah Pouge Sr. I am the youngest of two sisters Cassandra and Sophia Pouge. A few things about me, I love the Lord Jesus Christ, who is HEAD of my life. I enjoy playing drums, drawing, and working out. I love to spend time with my friends who I hold dear and close to my heart.
When I was a young boy, I always wanted to be in the NBA. I used to write on my paper or tests before passing it to the teacher, “NBA 1 DAY.” I used to sleep, shower, eat with a basketball, but God had other plans.
After losing both of my parents before graduating high school I went to college to become a graphic art designer. After a few years of going to college I fell out of love with that path. Didn’t know the trajectory of my life, but I knew that I wanted to do something positive, and I wanted to help others.
After speaking with a professional barber of many years, he gave me some information on how he started his career. After listening to him for a few hours I decided to investigate attending a barber school.
After attending Style Trends Barber and Hair Ac. in Rock Hill S.C. for one year, I took on the journey to becoming a professional barber. I worked in a few barbershops for years, in areas such as Lancaster S.C., Rock Hill S.C., York S.C., and University area of N.C. I knew that working for someone is not what I wanted to do for the remainder of my life. Eight years of working in other barbershops, I decided to take a big leap of faith, sold my house in hopes of owning my own barbershop.
On September 30, 2017 my heart leapt with joy and excitement as I received the key to a building with a big hole in the floor and spider webs everywhere. I stood there asking myself, “what did I get myself into?” After taking many deep breathes, I realized I was standing in my future, Featuring You Barbershop.
